About The King Michaels Foundation
Our Story
How The King Michaels Foundation Began
The King Michaels Foundation was started on the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to grow, build skills, and create a better future.
Recognizing that many people face challenges accessing education, employment, and stability, the foundation was established to provide mentorship, workforce training, and practical support. Inspired by the example of the founder’s father, known as “The King Maker and The King Appointer” and grounded in the values of Jesus Christ, this work continues a legacy of serving others. What began as a commitment to help individuals find direction has grown into an organization focused on education, skilled trade pathways, healthcare guidance, and community outreach both locally and globally.
Through guidance, training, and partnership, The King Michaels Foundation continues to support individuals in building independent and sustainable lives.
Meet Our Founders
The individuals leading our mission, inspired by a legacy of giving.
Dare Michaels
President & Founder
From an early age, our President and Founder witnessed the true meaning of generosity and compassion through his parents’ actions. His father quietly supported countless individuals and families, paying for books, educational needs, and essential resources to help others succeed. He believed deeply in removing barriers so others could reach their full potential, and his kindness impacted numerous lives.
Together, his parents ensured he had access to education, opportunity, and the foundation needed to build his future. Their example shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong responsibility to help others.
While attending Texas A&M University in Texas, where he studied Petroleum Engineering, Business, and Leadership, he experienced firsthand the power of generosity. Scholarships and support from charitable organizations significantly contributed to his education, reinforcing his belief in the importance of a strong support system and the transformative impact of giving.
Motivated by his parents’ sacrifices and belief in education, he founded this organization in 2009, two years after his father’s passing, to continue the values he lived by. The foundation stands as a tribute to his father’s legacy and as a reflection of the enduring influence of his mother, whose presence continues to inspire him.
Through this work, he honors his parents by creating opportunities for others, carrying forward the same compassion, generosity, and belief in human potential that shaped his own life. He remains committed to their legacy, guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ and the belief that through love, compassion, and service to others, lives can be uplifted, communities strengthened, and individuals encouraged to grow closer to God while pursuing their goals and dreams.
Dr. Idiata Iredia, MD
Vice President
Our Vice President’s journey reflects the very heart and mission of The King Michaels Foundation. As its first scholarship recipient, she experienced firsthand the life changing power of educational support and opportunity. Growing up with limited resources and facing a challenging childhood, she developed a deep commitment to giving back to her community.
Guided by determination and strengthened by the foundation’s encouragement, she pursued her academic goals while contributing to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education) initiatives that serve underprivileged youth. Her achievements stand as a powerful testament to the foundation’s impact and purpose.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Central Michigan University College of Medicine in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and holds a Master of Science (MS), having also studied at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States and The University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas, United States. Her academic journey reflects both excellence and resilience, reinforcing her lifelong commitment to service and education.
Having once benefited from The King Michaels Foundation herself, Dr. Iredia understands how access to education can transform lives. Today, she serves as Vice President, bringing both professional expertise and personal experience to her leadership role. Her dedication and vision continue to strengthen the foundation’s growth, empowering students, and creating opportunities for future generations.
